I feel that misdemeanors and certain felonies should be sealed from schools and employers after a certain period of time. Its not fair that we have to be punished for the rest of our lives for something that has happened years ago. It has become difficult for some to find employment as well as go to school for certain professions like nursing due to this issue. If you want to improve the economy, then start with sealing records after 7-10 years to allow for a fresh start.
