I do not understand how the US can not know about and be strongly promoting RF Accelerator Driven Heavy Ion Fusion (RFADHIF) as the answer to our national energy problem.
All scientists know that energy from fusion is the "holy grail" of carbon-less energy, but no one has looked "on the shelf" at the DOD and DOE to find the scientifically vetted answer - Argonne National Laboratory developed the answer - '70's fusion research. Don't squander all of the money on ITER, magnetic confinement and laser ignition, when we should have listened to the scientists who know the field best and be generating massive amounts of greenhouse gas free, storable and transportable energy, adopting what those experts have called "the conservative solution to fusion energy" 37 years ago - RFADHIF is ready NOW
