Upstate NY is not NYC or Long Island. Upstate is largely conservative compared to the liberal downstate. Laws and regulations that apply in NYC should not apply to upstate New Yorkers. Upstate should be a separate state and free to govern itself accordingly. Upstate tax money should stay upstate not going to the city and its surrounding area.
