New York City is synonymous with the Statue of Liberty, a hopeful symbol to countless peaceful, law-abiding immigrants who want to work hard for a better life. In spite of many challenges--including the worst terrorist attack on US soil--NYC and its people remain among the most inclusive and vibrant in the world. The President-Elect promises mass deportations and civil rights abuses unlike the United States has ever seen before. We ask that the City of New York and like-minded surrounding Counties to be allowed to peacefully secede from the US and convert from a State to a Territory or Commonwealth.
