Section 704 of The Telecom Act states local authorities cannot use environmental reasoning for cell tower/antenna placement. This is a violation of our basic Constitutional Right to life. RF (radio frequency) electromagnetic radiation have been deemed a Class 2 B carcinogen, per WHO/IARC. If the US is engaged in a "war on cancer" it is speaking out of both sides of our mouths to have such a law allowing corporate profits to trump human health. What about Pres. Obama's talk of cancer prevention? Industry's want of profit must not trump society's need for health and well being. Section 704 must be changed to allow for local zoning of cell towers/antennas and the safety standards must be revised to include non thermal effects.
