secure American voters from unscrupulous lying candndates

Created by J.B. on August 01, 2013

Honesty being so important to the trust placed in those who would govern, let it be enacted into law that a candidate for federal office is required to keep all campaign promises, such that, when they are elected and after the first term of their elected position, if they have failed to keep any of their promises or pledges made during the campaign, they will forfeit an amount of money equal to the sum they were paid to keep those promises, or imprisoned for a time equal to the term of office. Any promise made to a group of voters or captured on electronic media is subject to these stipulations.
