In the wake of the tragedy of September 11, 2001, the U.S. Congress decided that enhancing
the security of the United States’ borders was a vitally important component of preventing
future terrorist attacks.
The current conditions in Mexico and Central America, coupled with lax security measures and non-enforcement of current immigration laws, have caused a massive increase in illegal immigration. The President’s policy of not enforcing immigration laws has motivated people to come here and seek asylum.
Furthermore, DHS is releasing them into the public without the knowledge criminal history and without any resources. This will lead to crime and increased poverty.
All this petition asks is to support securing the border and to enforce Title 8 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
