Our science and technology would be vastly improved if we were to take steps towards the goal to colonize the sun. If we decided to go in this direction, then the new technology developed would make life better for everyone because technology is great and has never resulted in anything bad to happen to anyone.
Such technology that would need to be developed might include force-fields and fusion technology.
Something we could do to help with our energy crisis is to establish solar farms to collect energy from the sun.
Genetic engineering would also be important. We need genetically modified people and animals to be able to withstand the conditions of the surface of the sun. These genetically modified creatures would feel great.
