Consequential elections have hung on districts where the actual vote counts have varied more than the 2% margin of error from exit poll tabulations, in some cases these differences have been in the double digits.
These discrepancies in districts with machine counted votes, has caused wide spread distrust of the integrity of our election process, can be remedied with some very simple, low cost proposals that would basically crowd source the auditing of elections.
When people vote, they should receive a transaction receipt that includes whom they've voted for. They should be able to log on a website with their transaction and soc. and given an chance to dispute if the online log does not match their receipt. These disputes can be tabulated and reported.
