The political, economic and living situation in Venezuela at this point was the same in Cuba when Fidel Castro started his dictatorship government.
Venezuelans never were known as immigrants because the country's situation never was as chaotic as it is right know and it is because of the dictatorship measures imposed by the government.
People would think that this model was selected by the majority of the people, but I really don't think so. People has to know that all the powers are controlled by the president and that there is not separation of power as well as no respect for human rights.
Leopoldo is a very good example of it without any trial or any proof against him, he was imprisoned.
Moreover, the majority of Venezuelans trying to immigrate are professional and could be a benefit.
