see into the way that News Media handles tragedies, putting sensationalism and revenue over the actual loss of life.

Created by O.C. on December 21, 2012

News Media has, for too long, been elevating mass murderers (such as the ones from Sandy Hook) to nearly anti-hero levels, to "celebrity" status.
The way they focus on the murderer, rather than the victims is sickening, and this is done not for sake of the crime, but for the sake of ratings. More ad time, more printed sales, etc.
News Media needs to be made accountable for what they are doing, which is basically giving the next potential shooter, a goal to aim at, and if possible, to surpass. They are saying: "do this, and we will make sure that you are going to be known all around the world, alive or dead". And this needs to stop. I am aware that it infringes on the freedom of speech, but when lifes are on the line, measures to regulate this need to occur. Thanks for your time.
