Seek change in law that allows the US to provide economic support to any interim civilian government in Egypt.

Created by M.P. on July 03, 2013

The Muslim Brotherhood government of Egypt has failed to govern competently, inclusively, or with a long-term democratic outlook. They were allowed to hijack a country with only 15% of the Egyptian people's vote and proceeded impose their control over the Constitution, the legislature, and the armed forces.

During this consolidation of power they forgot that the Egyptian majority needed their basic economic needs met. The economy came to a standstill because there was no economic policy or initiatives. The people were faced with action or greater poverty. This is the reason for the demonstrations. Islam is only a secondary issue.

The US has failed to recognize these problems and believes that an election makes a democracy. It does not. We should support the Egyptian economy NOW.
