Request the Obama Administration to pursue jointly with Congress to replace the Christmas holiday with a Winter holiday that formally recognizes the religious and cultural observance of the Winter Solstice by the majority of the world's societies and cultures. In the Northern Hemisphere, this was a time of hope being reborn at a time where only the strongest survived in cramped quarters when quarters were available and the food stores were subject to pillaging and blight. It was for peoples of the Northern Hemisphere, the time of the longest night. How seemingly appropriate that many nations, many peoples, and even many races had their own celebrations of this solstice. Even secular people observed it as a time that was most nearly the start of the new year.
