Description: All Americans have a constitutional right to vote but in the last nine years the access to that right has shown erosion. First with the striking down of the preclearance provision of the VRA, then with states reverting to the old practices of erecting barriers to the vote.
This petition is in support of American democracy and the principles of our U.S. Constitution. All American citizens should have unencumbered access to the ballot box. The proposal/passing of laws that directly aim to deny access to voting are anti-American. We propose a full restoration of the voting rights act and an amendment to correct this wrong once and for all. Tell congress and the states that the right to vote is not a political football.
