We urge the President to immediately seek the re-introduction of common sense gun safety legislation, including universal background checks for gun sales, the reinstatement of the assault weapons ban, limiting the capacity of ammunition magazines, restricting guns at schools and on public school campuses, and offering more comprehensive services aimed at identifying and treating mental health issues.
