At the end of 2012, there had been 532 homicides in Chicago; amounting to an average of 1.5 deaths every single day, about eleven deaths every single week, and forty five deaths every single month (http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/report-532-murdered-chicago-2012_693...).
Although Trayvon Martin has received his day in court, it seems that no justice ever comes from the South Side; no matter how many innocent people die.
With this problem, it is necessary to for us to demand a federal attorney for Northern Illinois that will fight these gangs in the courtroom, a police force that will combat the gangs on the streets, and a government that will reform the gun policies of Chicago; policies that serve only to keep weapons from law abiding citizens seeking to defend themselves.
