Self-Regulation for Gun owners, Manufactures and Merchants. Impose Strict Liability for Injuries/Death by Firearms.

Created by C.N. on December 27, 2012

Remove all restrictions on firearms, their ownership and manufacture and sale. Impose strict civil liability for the manufacture, sale, trade or ownership of a firearm used to harm another human being that is not otherwise sanctioned (law enforcement's self-defense). Such a legal standard up and down the chain of commerce will compel the private sector to self-regulate as the cost of doing business in firearms will escalate. Victims and their estates can recover damages for the failure to assure that firearms will not be turned on human beings. Under such a self-regulatory standard, any entity who deals in forearms will take special care to assure that their firearm is not used to harm anyone. Self-regulation will satisfy the 2nd Amendment proponents and decrease gun violence dramatically.
