sell F-16 C/D fighter jets to Taiwan

Created by D.T. on December 01, 2012

Taiwan is a close friend to the United States and one of our top trading partners. At $67billion our Taiwan trade is about three times more significant than our exchange with Spain ($22billion) and 8x more important than Egypt ($8.2billion). Taiwan is a proven ally, and the U.S. has an interest in maintaining its freedom and economic prosperity.

Yet, when the Taiwanese people requested F-16 C/D fighter jets to match China's increasing military strength, which includes a growing fleet of destroyers and a new aircraft carrier, they were ignored. This is especially insulting considering that we denied their requests at our own economic expense.

Taiwan only seeks peace, but mainland China continues to aim thousands of missles at it. President Obama MUST sell Taiwan the jets it needs NOW.
