I currently cannot find an estimate for the net worth of the state of Texas. However, I imagine it is worth at least a billion dollars. With the money gained from selling Texas, the United States could buy at LEAST that many tacos, feeding the millions of homeless citizens at least a couple of times.
In addition to feeding citizens, stimulating the taco industry would allow for job creation, which would give the economy a boost. Any money not put into the taco industry could be put toward shelters, education, or infrastructure.
Texas has already expressed its wish to secede, so by selling it the United States could make everyone happy. Especially because if Puerto Rico does become a state, we will continue to have 50 states instead of an odd 51.
