Sell Texas to Mexico to aid U.S. debt relief

Created by M.S. on November 15, 2012

Recently, a popular petition asked for Texas to secede from the U.S. Since so many of the supporting petitioners are NOT Texans, it seems we'd ALL love to cut them loose already. But not for free! Let's get some value here: Texas citizens actually have a NEGATIVE value (it is among the top 10 for states with non-federal income tax paying citizens, at 39%). Additionally, Texas has (as of 2009) received federal disaster assistance more than any other state. BUT, as a territory, Texas would surely be worth several trillion dollars to Mexico. Or as the well known venture capital genius Mitt Romney might point out, it's "break up" value could be even higher. But the best value sale is to Mexico, since this will also eliminate the need for 1254 miles of fence along the current 1969 mile border.
