At the start of the Iraq war there were almost 2 million Assyrian people living in their homeland of Iraq since then the number has dwindled with no support or assistance from the US government. The recent developments in the city of Mosul (Nineveh Province) displaced over 500,000 people many of which are Assyrian. We urge the US government to send relief and support to the Assyrian people of Iraq. As an Assyrian and Army Veteran with two tours in Iraq I believe it is owed to the indigenous people of Iraq.
