While a drone missile strike may help to set the anti-chemical weapon precedent in future conflicts, it would not truly bring an effective end to the conflict, nor even help to stabilize it. Removing Assad from total power would create a dangerous power vacuum, and arming the rebels would increase in-fighting, chaos, and bring weapons to jihadists. A solution not yet brought before congress is as follows: we deploy every member of the House of Representatives and national Senate, along with their staffs, to the ground in Syria. Imagine how the Assad regime would react when they see hundreds of the world's most powerful diplomats ready for action! Also, imagine how much benefit it would do our congressional representatives to experience some actual conflict! A win-win for everyone.
