Bypass Congress and send directly to the States for ratification:
A person may serve a total of 12 years in Congress and cannot move to a different district to run for another term.
The current term being served as of January 1 of the year after the Amendment is ratified will be considered their first term regardless of how long in office up to that point. They may serve one more term before being ineligible for office.
If a Congressperson voluntarily leaves office before their term is up, they are eligible to run for office again. However, once elected, their term is shortened by the time served previously.
If a Congressperson involuntarily leaves office due to recall or conviction of a felony crime, they are ineligible to run again for any political office anywhere in the US.
