President Obama should not attend the White House Correspondent's Dinner which has devolved into a self congratulatory display of gross excess. In a time when many people are still out of work and the government remains disfunctional, it is inappropriate for the President to participate in this celebration of Washington insider influence. As detailed in the book "This Town", it has become a boorish event for the revolving door Washington political class. It is a microcosm of what is wrong with our government. The President should stay home this year and send Joe Biden, who can more than sufficiently represent the administration and respect for freedom of the press.
