Sgt. Bales should be sent to Afghanistan for trial and punishment for several very important reasons.
First, how our country and leaders are percieved in areas such as Afghanistan is important. When they hear of murdered civilians, many there will be outraged and demand justice. Talk on the news is of imprisonment, not execution for his actions. This is why people join terrorist groups, and why they plan retaliatory acts.
Second, Afghanis watch the news, and know that our president has the power to take an action such as sending Bales back to their country for trial. For Obama to do less than that is viewed as protecting him from real (their customary) justice. Imagine the hatred this spawns in that whole region!
Third, it is the RIGHT thing to do. His crime, their people, their country
