As a young attorney, Lincoln famously questioned witnesses like so:
How many legs does a horse have?
(They would answer: 4)
If you call a tail a leg, how many legs does it have now?
(They answer 5)
Lincoln answers: Nope, calling a tail a leg don't make it a leg.
Russia repeatedly insists it is not conducting an invasion of Ukraine, but calling it by any other name would be absurd. Russia forced aid trucks into Ukraine denying they assisted rebels, but days after delivery the rebels seize Novoazovsk with scores of men.Captured rebels in Ukraine bear Russian military documents.
Russia can do no more than plausibly deny its invasion, but the US can do more than sanction. Give Ukraine the weapons it needs to secure its borders, and the borders of Europe: send military arms now.
