to send a US representative to witness whaling activities in the Southern Ocean

Created by L.W. on December 30, 2012

For years, the Japanese government, in the guise of the Institute of Cetacean Research and the Kyodo Senpaku company, has actively hunted and killed whales in the Southern Ocean. During this time, Sea Shepherd, a non-profit organization, has engaged in non-violent opposition to the Japanese whalers.

In response to US government statements indicating concern over the conflict taking place in the Southern Ocean, Sea Shepherd has invited representatives from the United States to send a representative to witness this conflict first-hand.

This petition encourages the US government to accept Sea Shepherd's invitation and send a representative to the Southern Ocean to observe the activities of Sea Shepherd and the Japanese whalers.
