My fiancé Dustin Pulido, is serving a 20 year sentence at the age of 28 for a non-violent drug offense. In his possession were 8oz of drugs and a handgun. They charged him with possession of the exorbitant amount of 9.9 kilos. All drug evidence against Dustin was circumstantial, based on the word of a known criminal that is trying to skirt the law and remain free.
An Dustin's case, treatment is needed not prison time. Dustin has a little girl who needs her daddy home. Mandatory minimums for non-violent offenses are far too high and a great strain on taxpayer dollars. The disparity between sentencing for powdered cocaine and crack was changed in the Fair Sentencing Act of 2010. I ask that the sentence for Dustin Pulido of Texas be greatly reduced from 20 years.Thank you so much.
