Separate all existing spousal consolidation loans.

Created by L.B. on October 31, 2011

In 2006, the option to participate in spousal consolidations was eliminated. Many people who currently have spousal consolidations are finding that they are not eligible for the repayment options that they need. For example, returning students are no longer guaranteed in school deferment, unless your spouse is also returning to school. Spouses with existing spousal consolidation loans cannot reconsolidate or separate their loans, even in the case of death or divorce. Since these spousal consolidation loans have been eliminated, it is our belief; all existing spousal consolidation loans should be separated.
