Separate Church and State (Representatives). Widen the the distance between organized religion and the nation state.

Created by H.A. on April 07, 2013

I would like to propose a policy be put in place (by amendment to the constitution) that would prohibit the disclosure of religious affiliation by candidate running for political office of the United States of America.

The policy would enforce the separation of church and state in the sense of what it should truly mean. Being that the USA supports the religious freedoms of all its peoples - it should not allow such personal information be used within a campaign to sway votes or to gather support of similar peoples based on this personal fact rather than the individuals opinions on policy that he or she could alter once elected.

I know it would not change things right away but we must show that we do not support this behavior. At minimum on paper.
