Separate Cities and States into Sovereign Entities

Created by J.M. on January 28, 2013

The United States of America prides itself stability and happiness when it comes to its citizens. In the spirit of freedom and compromise, I acknowledge that larger cities in the United States, such as Chicago, IL, New York City, NY, Houston, TX, Los Angeles, CA, Boston, MA, Tampa Bay, FL, among other cities, have a disproportionate population density as compared to the rest of the state.

This disproportionate population density carries with it a disproportionate political view. The cities of America are notably more liberal than the rest of the states, have higher populations, and maintain higher population densities, and as such, I propose that they be treated as separate sovereign entities, separated from their state and subject to laws exclusive to the city-state.
