Separate non-violent offenders from violent offenders by reforming current sentencing guidelines.

Created by J.H. on October 20, 2013

I implore the federal government to separate the non-violent offenders from the more violent offenders involving child pornography. No decent person is in favor of child abuse and/or humiliating victims further by recording it and then redistributing the memory of their abuse online. However, stopping the abuse should always be the focus. Despite overwhelming evidence non-violent offenders seldom reoffend once caught and can be treated they spend millions of dollars providing them free food, housing, and medical services in prison. I suggest you get rid of the mandatory minimums so that alternative sentences that are more rehabilitative and then keep them off the sex offender registry so that they can become more productive citizens that never fall back into a life of crime again.
