Upstate New York and New York City are completely different in every way. Upstate is farmers, and rural communities and even though we are proud to be from NY we make it clear that we are not from NYC. With the population of NYC exceeding 8 million and the total population of NY as a state exceeding 18 million, one man can not possibly represent the best interest of all 18 million. His policies are in the best interest of the people of NYC and not in favor of those of us who live upstate. It is getting to the point where law enforcement in Upstate NY is even flat out refusing to enforce new legislation by our governor. This petition is to separate the two into separate entities and form a new state.
