seriously address the top petitions so as to make this gesture more effective than the Twitter Townhall.

Created by E.C. on September 23, 2011

The Obama Administration wants to be seen as embracing the possibilities enabled by new technology. However, the point and power of social media is lost if the determining factor in which issues are addressed and which are not is an official curator, as opposed to the collective people's voice. Many challenging but important questions were submitted by users during the Twitter Townhall that went unanswered. Some of the most commonly asked questions, as indicated by twitter's livestream, went ignored in favor of more predictable ones that were easier to address.

Therefore, we 'Hope' that the We The People page is an indication of 'Change,' and that the Obama Administration will honor our democracy by issuing honest replies to the most popular petitions, followed by concrete actions.
