Seriously examine the current state of student loans in the United States.

Created by O.T. on January 15, 2016

Student debt in this country has reached 1.2 trillion dollars and graduates are left with little prospect or hope because of weak job prospects, lack of repayment options and job programs. Students significantly delay other life goals such as marriage, mortgages and business ventures due to student debt. Repayment options and programs are insufficient to tackle the crisis.

Scholarships exist but students are often unaware of the options available to them before going to college. Create a centralized scholarship database run by Department of Education.

Public service and post graduation programs to address repayment and forgiveness are few and far between. Put people to work for less but payback the loans.

Lastly, change the 10 year forgiveness rule to 5 years for those in STEM fields.
