The average service member makes less than 30-40 thousand a year. As an E-4 specialist married I currently make less than 40k USD a year. The average employee at Costco makes 40k USD P/Y. I am creating this petition asking respectfully to our commander in chief President Barack H. Obama to not allow the sequestration to take any form of basepay or allowances from our armed forces. Most of us struggle as it is now. Many service members have to utilize government assistance such as food stamps and WIC in order to survive. Many of us have fought and bled and done our fair share in the protection of the Constitution and the United States. When we are called upon we respectfully follow the orders of ALL who are appointed over us. Protect us as we have protected you.
