Please set aside 500 million dollars for the research and development of next generation Thorium based nuclear reactors. We must end the threat that climate change, dwindling fossil fuel supplies, and thirst for foreign oil has on this country. Thorium based reactors would give the citizens of this great nation a vast supply of abundant energy that is truly safe, clean, environmentally friendly and affordable. This means clean air and economic prosperity for all. Renewable energy cannot save us in time, and traditional nuclear is to dangerous, leaves to much dangerous waste, and the fuel is to finite. We must take realistic, concrete action to stop this calamity.
