We the people of the United States of America do hereby ask the President of the United States to establish terms limits as originally proposed in Article V of the Article of Confederation. Article V states "no person shall be capable of being a delegate (to the continental congress) for more than three years in any term of six years."
The Articles of Confederation being the original Constitution of the United States provided the framework for the Constitution of the United States. Article V was left from the Constitution of the United States in an effort to save space in the document. However this omission is creating a condition on capitol hill where the current government is not one for the people or by the people. We ask that a term limits bill be drafted and amended.
