In light of the recent events in Newtown, Connecticut where 20 innocent and helpless children of the ages 6 and 7 years old and six adults were ruthlessly attacked and murdered by a deranged and mentally ill individual who easily and readily accessed several high powered assault weapons, as well as a multitude of other similar events also occurring in public schools, including but not limited to Columbine High School and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, it has come time to eradicate the "right to bear arms" and limit this responsibility to law enforcement professionals, the Unites States military and other national, state and local institutions who have been charged with protecting the public safety.
