Make the Metric System the official measurement system of the United States. The world is very connected now. Most of the world uses the metric system. The metric system is simple, easy, efficient and labor saving. Using the metric system would help the U.S. be more competitive with the rest of the world. When a mechanic in Germany requires a wrench bigger than 5 mm he tries a 6 mm wrench. When a mechanic in America finds the 9/16" wrench too small he needs to try the next bigger size which is 5/8". We Americans all knew this :). When a recipe in France calls for doubling 400 ml the cook measures 800 ml. In America when a recipe calls for doubling 2 2/3 cups the chef measures out _____. It is time to join the rest of humanity and do the right thing. Set a date to make this transition.
