Set the duration on patents at 10 years maximum in order to stimulate a quicker pace for innovation.

Created by W.D. on January 16, 2013

Our Congress is owned and operated by rich corporations. They force Congress to pass insane regulations regarding the ownership of ideas. Our patent office is constantly issuing patents on concepts which have already existed for decades in some cases. There are even patents on naturally occurring molecules. Limiting the duration of these patents would, at minimum, decrease the negative impact of the vast number of patents which never should have been issued in the first place. It will also force fat, rich, lazy corporations to innovate, rather than floating along forever milking their ancient patents. Not only should the patent period be reduced to 10 years maximum, but ownership of patents should be restricted to entities which are actually producing products based on those patents.
