set a federal minimum age restriction on the purchase & possession of electronic cigarettes to 18 years old

Created by A.B. on April 23, 2013

Consumers have been led to believe that electronic nicotine delivery systems, commonly referred to as electronic cigarettes or e-cigs, are a safe alternative to normal tobacco cigarettes & can be used to quit smoking. Preliminary research from the FDA found toxic substances and carcinogens in these products. E-cigs still contain nicotine, a highly addictive chemical that causes heart disease. Furthermore, e-cig manufacturers are packaging the products in ways to appeal to youth and adding characterizing flavors of fruit and candy. These products appeal to youth and can lead to life-long nicotine addiction. There is no minimum age restriction on the sale and possession of electronic cigarettes. Please sign our petition to restrict the sale of these products to only people 18+ years old.
