The current method of supporting individuals without making it a priority to implement any type of programs to focus on self-improvement is creating endless generations of helplessness. The American citizens who are hopelessly reliant on government are being robbed of the opportunity to contribute and gain satisfaction from doing so. Many suffer from a lack of self-confidence and are overwhelmed by the prospect of learning a trade. There must be reform in the current welfare system that promotes self-improvement and progressive growth of individuals.
