set more strict regulations on oil companies and those who speculate on oil prices.

Created by R.S. on February 15, 2013

Oil companies and speculators need to start being held accountable for their effect on the economy. The USA has come across a vast and large shale deposit and we have been removing it for some time, but yet the oil companies are still exporting our oil to other countries while allowing gas prices to sit high here in America. Middle East countries who export oil pay low prices for petrol, while Americans do not receive that same benefit as other countries who export oil. Sadly our prices are set more by speculators who need to start being held accountable for their speculations. I suggest to make a regulation that investors or speculators can have no bearing on how the oil prices are set. A person guessing at what a price is going to be tomorrow is not a way to run an economy.
