We the People need a national marijuana decriminalization standard to set a maximum limit for U.S. citizens to be punished and fined until all states have established appropriate tax and regulated systems for marijuana. No U.S. citizen should be jailed or have their children and property taken away because their state lawmakers have not yet come together to decide on an appropriate solution to fix the glitch of having marijuana as a schedule 1 controlled substance. We the People are long overdue for an executive decision on decriminalizing marijuana on a national level that has been recommended by studies since the Shafer Commission report in 1972.
