Set the pay for all members of congress to the federally approved minimum hourly wage.

Created by K.M. on December 20, 2012

All members of Congress (House and Senate) should receive pay commensurate with the federal minimum wage. Since our congressional leaders our the voice of the people (their constituents), they should receive the minimum pay they approve. Since there has not been a cost of living increase for Federal employees, their is no need for Congress to consistently give themselves (Vote) a pay raise. Per Diem, Travel, and Incidentals should be paid for in addition to minimum wage. Then our Congressional Leaders may be able to focus on the issues at hand, and not have to worry about money. They don't seem to mind taking it from the American people's pocket.
