The Median Salary is linked to what the majority of people in America make, unlike the mean salary, which is heavily influenced by the super rich and super poor. Seems to me that a Government should be geared to creating prosperity, and what better way to force that than to link the wages of our officials to (what I believe) is one of the best indicators of prosperity, the Median Wage. Also, it will make getting increase to Minimum Wage past a little easier.
