Set Up Sobriety Checkpoints

The issue in America is driving under the influence and driving while intoxicated. Many car accidents happen because of this issue. The rate of drunk driving is highest among 21-25 year olds. About one-third of all drivers get arrested or convicted of drunk driving. (www.MADD.org) We are petitioning to set up sobriety checkpoints new major highways and places where drunk driving accidents are likely to happen. We want to make them more local. Research shows that checkpoints, if done correctly, can be affective with as few as 3 to 5 officers and every dollar invested in checkpoints communities save between $6 and $23 costs from alcohol related crashes. We will fund this by the state government through not building pavements and roads and taking that money for the officers and the fund.
