Set specific food item regulations on Food Stamp/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Created by T.H. on February 12, 2013

It is apparent that a regulation needs to be put in place for Food Stamp/SNAP purchases. Even the acronym SNAP (supplemental nutrition assistance program) is a laughing stock considering the items that are purchased on a daily basis. Oreo cookies, Cool Whip, Rib Eye steaks and a childs preference from the candy rack in no way add up to nutrictious. The program needs to be regulated with a specific list of allowable purchases, similar to the WIC program. The flamboyant items acquired by the recipients of these benefits has long been out of control. "Low income" house holds receiving SNAP benefits contain more delicacies and name brand foods than the peoples' whose tax dollars actually support the program. Please help bring about this change that is long over due.
