Imposing a fixed campaign limit, annually adjusted for inflation will reduce the barrier of entry for more election candidates and lessen the need for corporate or other special interest group sponsorship that contribute to campaign success.
This would also be applied to existing and future elected officials going forward.
Fact: Over 14,000 lobbyists and just over 300 members of congress. Think about this.
With reduced campaign funding, less lobbyists would would continue to be in business, thus allowing the members of congress to not be swayed to the whims of their special interest sponsors.
Additionally, with fewer lobbyists, work time can be restored back to congressional members so they can focus on the duties at hand for their direct constituents as well as the nation as a whole.
